Giving is Worship

Image
In a dream, I saw a friend who told me that giving is a way of serving God. She even went further to say that all she has ever achieved and her testimonies came from serving God through her finance. I didn’t fully understand until a month after, we spoke and I shared the dream with her. She was shocked! In her words, “The Holy Spirit is always accurate and perfect” (indeed He is the revealer of secret things). This was an eye-opener and a game changer for me in my Faith journey and I thought to share same with you. I know you may be wondering how? No need to think it too far, the truth is we can do so much more for God apart from our tithes and offerings on Sunday or midweek services. There are so many blessings attached to giving. It is also important to note that God is not a user of men but a blesser of men. Also, no one lacks what he gives . No one serves Jesus in truth and deed and ends up in shame or broke. He is too faithful to fail. Here are various ways we can explore gi

Emptiness is NOT an Option

Humans are spirit beings; meaning that we are spirit-carriers either consciously or unconsciously. You can't be empty. The Word of God says for as many as are led by the spirit of God they are called the sons of God (Romans 8:14).  There are various ways to build up our spirit man. This include communing with God daily; by praying (in tongues), meditating on the scriptures, singing spiritual songs, hymns and in summary worshipping God at all times. One thing to take note is that, if we don’t establish and build our relationship or communicate with God on a daily basis, it is easy for the devil to take advantage of the spirit man. You just find yourself doing things out of fleshly desires.  I recall a conversation I had with a friend; we talked about the excessive usage of social media. He said, “one just surfs through the internet all day without praying or even opening the Bible to hear from God and just feel empty at the end of the day.” If that’s the case for you and me, then we

Why You Need to Examine Your Christianity ASAP๐Ÿฅน

Image
And He said to me, “don’t feel like you are holier than others” I startled for few seconds. That was the Holy Spirt talking to me๐Ÿ˜ฎ I had to examine myself for several minutes, like what was I doing wrongly? But I am not showing off or judging anyone now ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฅน The honest truth is that that’s the case for most Christians; we judge others or feel like we are way better with serving God than others. Remember the Bible says, judge not (Matthew 7:1) Recently, I have come to realize that Christianity is a personal journey; unless God tells you to advice an individual regarding the faith work (which should be done in gentleness and love - Galatians 6:1-2), why are we trying to remove the speck in their eyes while leaving the log of wood in our own eyes? It is very easy to see other people’s inadequacies while not seeing your own inadequacies (Matthew 7:5) The Bible calls such an individual who goes about with such behavior an hypocrite. How do we preach the gospel to the unsaved while we are s

Intercessory Prayers - Salvation and Spiritual Growth

1.     "Father in the name of Jesus let there be a great revival in my family, amongst my friends & loved ones and in Nigeria, resulting in massive salvation of souls into the kingdom of God thereby making them active disciples of Christ for life." INTERCESSORY PRAYERS WORK WONDERS IN THE LIVES OF BELIEVERS

Image
“The Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he prayed for his friends, the Lord gave Job twice as much he had before” Job 42:10 Everyone needs to pray and be prayed for. The blessings that come with interceding for others can't be quantifed. The bible says there was supernatural restoration for Job when he engaged in intercessory prayers for his friends. We are saddled with praying for the salvation and well-being of others; be it family, friends, colleagues or even enemies! The prayers of the righteous avails much as we need to pray for one another that we may be healed and restored (James 5:16). This article will be exploring few benefits of praying for others. We are doing the Lord’s work/expanding the gospel of Christ - Matthew 6:33, 1 Timothy 2:1-4 In a world full of many distractions, we are to seek God first and His kingdom (the advancement of His kingdom). When we pray for the redemption of the soul of the unsaved, we are expanding the kingdom of God. We are emulating Ch

How to Forgive Easily

Image
Bitterness and resentment won’t do any good both to our health and spiritual lives. Forgiveness has been linked to improved mental health such as reduced anxiety, depression, stress and major psychiatric disorders. In addition, forgiveness not only improves one's health but also translates to God forgiving us our own sins too and in turn helping us grow spiritually and praying effectively.  Absolutely no one hasn’t been offended or offended others. However, we have a choice to make; either to let go/forgive and live a happy life OR keep holding on to offences and having a heart full of burdens. Here are few ways to forgive easily. We are an extension of God’s love We were yet sinners but God loves us (John 3:16). The Bible in Colossians 3:13 says we should  forbear and forgive one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” ‭ The Bible says we should love one another by extending God’s love to others. We can extend God's l

DEALING WITH WANDERING THOUGHTS DURING PRAYERS

Image
Studies have proven that humans have short attention span. This is also applicable during prayers. We have a lot of things on our minds; office work, school work, what to eat, how to multiply income and million of things keep running through our minds at every point in time. It is important to not only watch these thoughts but also deal with them while we are praying. We want to eliminate all forms of distractions and focus on one thing/task per time. A good way to achieving this is by decluttering the mind from all worries and thought. We need to reposition our minds to what we are doing; which is praying. Also, we can turn off all phone notifications during prayers in order to fully concentrate. Another means to controlling distractive thoughts is by converting those thoughts to prayer requests. We think or worry over anything. Usually, the reason why this occurs is because we need help, we need solutions to these things that might be posing a sort of challenge or issue for us. M

6 TIPS TO HAVING A GREAT PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Image
One thing for sure is that we can’t live life on our own. We need Jesus; to guide us, help us. In fact, we need Him for everything. He made the heaven and the earth, formed us out of His own image (Gen. 1:27). God is our maker, He leads us, knows what we need per time and the reason why He created us. We need to have a personal relationship with Him; that one-on-one communication. Why did He create you? What is His will? What we should do and shouldn’t? and 1001 and more things to commune with Him about. We have to take strategic steps to develop a daily communication and strong connection with God. Here are few ways to get closer to God, to hear from Him and live a Godly and purposeful life according to God’s will. 1. Meditate on a chapter/verse of the Bible daily The bible says meditating on the Word of God every day will make us prosperous and be blessed (Josh 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3). In a world of so many voices, we need to build up our faith through God’s word and live for Him.

HOW TO STAY CALM WHEN IN DIFFICULT SITUATIONS

As human beings, we are sometimes faced with challenges from work, school, family, finances, amongst others. Matthew 6 and Philippians 4:6-7 tells us that we should not worry about anything but instead seek God’s righteousness, praying and giving thanks. Here are few ways we can overcome fear, anxiety when faced with challenges: 1.        Silence the voice of the devil: We need to beware of evil thoughts and strange voices when faced with crisis. The bible says guard your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23). Tell the devil confidently, that you are a child of God, you have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of God (Colossians 1:13) 2.        Speak in tongues: Oftentimes we don’t even know what to pray for. That’s why we need the Holy Spirit to intercede for us (Rom. 8:26-27). Take a moment today to pray in the Holy Ghost and you will see results. 3.        Engage in deliberate thanksgiving: From personal experience, thanksgivin

HOW TO BE AN EXCELLENT LISTENER IN 2023

Image
We often times mix up hearing and listening. To effectively communicate both verbally and non-verbally, we need to actively receive a message.   During my undergraduate days as a Linguistics student, I was introduced to the study of language as a medium of communication. Here, I learnt terms such as the Encoder, Decoder, a Message amongst others. The encoder is the individual speaking or passing a message across while the decoder is the receiver. He/she receives the message through the art of listening. However, over the years I have always wondered as to how and why decoders/listeners don’t respond appropriately to the message being passed across.  Could it be that the decoder was distracted? listened to respond? Or didn’t understand the topic/subject matter being engaged with?  This then translates that being an excellent listener equals to being an excellent speaker in turn. The art of listening is an under taught communication skill which needs to be paid attention to. I believe on
